About Brophy Family and Youth Services

Brophy Family and Youth Services is a quality Child Safe accredited, not-for-profit organisation providing a wide range of family, youth and children services across South-west Victoria. 

Our Foster Care Program looks after children and young people when a family needs support, in cases of family conflict or if there is a significant risk of harm or abuse. 

We are now looking for a highly empathetic and experienced Manager - Foster Care to join our team in Warrnambool, VIC, full-time. This is a highly rewarding opportunity where you will be able to lead our Foster Care team and help impact our community and service.

In this role, you will develop trusting and supportive relationships with children, young people, families and their caregivers, understanding the issues faced.

Our Foster Care program looks after children and young people when a family needs support, in cases of family conflict or if there is a significant risk of harm in the family home. 
 
As a Leader, you’ll coordinate, supervise, oversee and support the day-to-day operations of the Foster Care team, whilst managing a complex caseload and the development of risk plans. You’ll develop trusting and supportive relationships with children, young people, families and their caregivers, in understanding the issues faced. 
 
This is a highly varied role where no two days are the same. Ideal candidates will have a flexible approach and be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.

Core duties will include:

  • Supervision and delivery of secondary consultation within the scope of practice and professional development.
  • Engaging with children, young people and their families using various strategies such as assertive engagement, outreach, persistence, and pacing.
  • Effective administration of the program's services in accordance with service plans, agreements and funding body requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders and services across various sectors to ensure an integrated and collaborative approach that supports positive client outcomes.
