Brophy Family and Youth Services is a quality Child Safe accredited, not-for-profit organisation, providing a wide range of family, youth and children services across South-west Victoria. 

Working with children, young people and families across the region, Brophy provides support and services to those in crisis in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. How You’ll Make a Difference

Brophy Family and Youth Services is now seeking an experienced leader to join the team as the Executive Manager - Health Services

The Health Services Division of Brophy provides an innovative early intervention service to young people, 12 to 25 years, especially those at risk of mental health and substance use.

Working within the relevant frameworks, you'll ensure the best outcomes for children and young people that engage in Brophy's health services.

The Executive Manager will have overall responsibility for the Health Services Division and has direct line management and supervisory responsibility for the following teams within the division:

  • Access and Engagement Service 
  • Youth GP Clinic 
  • Headspace Portland & Warrnambool Offices
  • Mental Health Services 
  • Drug and Alcohol Responding Early Program 
  • Vocational Assistance Services 
  • Multiple Mental Health Service Streams

The position is responsible for providing effective guidance, advice and support to the Health Services Teams to help young people access early intervention mental health services.

With a broad range of responsibilities covering governance/quality governance, strategy, program management, operations, quality assurance, and learning and development, you will improve the lives of vulnerable people in the community by:

  • Ensuring staff members are empowered to develop trusting and supportive relationships with children and young people in the region;
  • Planning and executing strategic development of the Health Services and ongoing improvement of processes as needed to maintain standards of care; and 
  • Ensuring all operations meet appropriate compliance requirements and associated quality standards

In addition to your salary of $125,965 - $130,458, your important work will be rewarded with generous benefits including salary packaging, five weeks annual leave, ongoing learning and development opportunities, and private use of a fleet car will be available for $3,000 per year.

Relocation assistance will also be negotiable for the right candidate.

What You'll Bring to the Team

You will be a systems-minded, empathetic individual, ideally with a minimum of five years of experience in coordinating the delivery of health services within a health focussed community services or related industry setting. You will use your experience to make a difference in the lives of children and young people in crisis, exercising emotional intelligence as necessary to mitigate conflict. You'll be approachable, compassionate and respectful of all individuals and their circumstances. 

A tertiary qualification in social work, community development or health related services will be required, however candidates with a bachelor’s degree in business or management where combined with relevant experience in adjacent sectors are encouraged to apply. 

Other requirements include:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex funding packages
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement 
  • A proven ability to make timely decisions with regard to children and young people, particularly under pressure or in a crisis situation
